AN EVENING OF NATIVE HEALING   Karuk Medicine Man Charles Thom Sr and Earth Circle Drum


This special community event, sponsored by EarthAlive in Mount Shasta California in 2011, was attended by approximately 200 people who had their spirits uplifted with the humor, sacred songs, stories, ancient Native medicine information, drumming, and dance demonstrations shared by Charlie Thom and Earth Circle Drum.

The video shown here features Earth Circle Drum’s opening song for the evening, the Root Song. This popular welcoming song, used to bring people together for ceremony and welcome in the ancestor spirits, is a combination of old songs from a the archives of the Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon.

The full NATIVE HEALING program, a wonderful collection of sacred songs, storytelling, and a dance demonstration, is in the process of being produced and is in high resolution.
