Co-founder - producer - director - photographer Marguerite Lorimer has gained international recognition over the past 15 years.  After retiring from a fulfilling 30-year career in ophthalmology and ophthalmic (retinal) photography Marguerite began working with John, photographing and interviewing traditional elders, wisdom teachers, ceremonial leaders, dancers, innovators and artists from a diversity of cultures. Over time, she has expanded her skills to include graphic design, website design, grant writing, Final Cut Pro editing, scriptwriting, the speaking of narrations, and the authoring of DVDs.

An active member of her Mount Shasta community, Marguerite has a diversity of interests to which she devotes her time. Marguerite recently served on the Board of Directors for Siskiyou County’s Women in Business Network (WIBN) and the Board of Directors for Jefferson Economic Development Institute (JEDI). She also innovated and led “Women in Business Network Support”, a twice-monthly support-and-education group for women entrepreneurs in southern Siskiyou County.  When not busy photographing or producing she enjoy the rivers, lakes and mountains of beautiful Northern California with John, cooking and entertaining, and studying marketing.

FILM WORKS

Marguerite filmed, photographed and co-produced a mini-documentary that was shown during the Dalai Lama’s World Peace Conference in Maimi, Florida, featuring a Tibetan Buddhist Rinpoche’s unique vision about the creation of world peace after the destruction of the ancient Bamiyan Buddha statues in Afghanistan.

Marguerite co-wrote, photographed and co-produced numerous short educational films, including a DVD about an Oakland, California organization that does international work in the healing of racism; a DVD about a master Shona stone sculptor from Zimbabwe; a fundraising DVD for an orphanage in Africa; an educational DVD for a master drummer and international educator from Ghana, West Africa; and an educational film for an ecology center. She has also filmed, photographed, edited, and produced short promotional videos and DVDs for small businesses.
